|Enniscoe estate on the shores of Lough Conn is situated two miles from the village of Crossmolina and twelve miles from Ballina. The 18th century house is surrounded by parkland and woods leading down to the lake shore. An old farmyard behind the house has been converted into an attractive stone built heritage centre. The old walled gardens have been restored and entrance to them is through the Heritage Centre.
It is possible to spend the day, or indeed days, here exploring the woodland walks, visiting the gardens and the museum, relaxing in the tea room, browsing in the shop, or reading in the library. If you wish for a more active visit take part in a blacksmithing course, go fishing for brown trout in the lake or learn more about organic gardening. If your roots are in North Mayo you may commission research from the family history unit and may then be able to visit the places that your ancestors left many generations ago.
You may just come for an hour or two, you may stay for a few days or even longer, whichever you chose you will find the special magic and peaceful atmosphere of Enniscoe waiting for you.
